Aquapark

The summer aquapark provides a wide range of facilities and a number of attractions – restaurants, fast food, heated swimming pools, water spouts, an almost 100-metre-long water slide, a slide, a beach volleyball court, a children’s corner, table tennis tables, aerobics, sports equipment rental, trampolines and more. Trails

A network of off-road singletrails for mountain bikes can be found in the vicinity of Trutnov in the locality of Čížkové kameny and Jestřebí hory (Jestřebí Mountains). These are pleasant routes peppered with wonderful distant views of the surrounding countryside.

Currently, Trutnov Trails offers about 40 km of natural singletrails of various difficulties. Trail routes are designed in a way that will attract all categories of bikers.

You can complement riding the trails with fantastic bike trips to the nearby Krkonoše (Giant Mountains), Adršpach Rocks, Babiččina údolí (Grandmother’s Valley), Žacléř or Broumov area and spend several wonderful days here.

Junkyard – skatepark & pumptrack

The Junkyard Park, which contains both a concrete skatepark and an asphalt pump track, is located in street Na Lukách behind the summer aquapark and thus complements a number of sport activities along the Úpa River. Within the Czech Republic, this is a unique connection that is yet to be matched. The opening hours of the area, which is freely accessible, are from 8 a.m. to 9 p.m.

Gablenz

The monument to General Gablenz from 1868 stands on Šibeník Hill and commemorates the victory of the 10th Austrian Army Corps over the Prussian army in the Battle of Trutnov on June 27, 1866. The cast-iron monument was built as a 20-meter-high observation tower, and its shape resembles an obelisk. Inside the obelisk, stairs lead up to the upper part, from where there is a view of the entire battlefield as well as the city and its surroundings. On the monument are recorded the names of fallen officers and the number of casualties from individual regiments of the Austrian army. In the crypt are kept the remains of General Ludvík Gablenz. The monument is protected as a cultural monument of the Czech Republic.

The Lesní Plovárna Sejfy (Forest swimming pool) is located 8 km from Aparthotel Rýbrcoul, near Mladé Buky. There is a 50m swimming pool with a gradual bottom. The natural character of the swimming pool creates a pleasant environment for relaxation. Farmapark Muchomůrka (Farmapark Toadstool) is located in a beautiful Krkonoše area between the towns of Janské Lázně and Svoboda n. Úpa, with a view of Černá hora. Aichelburg Forest Castle

Originally, the romantic castle was built above Temný Důl as a memorial to Count Berthold of Aichelburg, who died in 1861. After 1883, when the Maršov estate was purchased by Countess Aloisie Czernin-Morzinová, the castle began to deteriorate and in 1945 was almost forgotten.
Thanks to the Aichelburg Castle Society, which was founded in 1995, the castle was restored and opened to the public in 2000.

Rope park and baby park in Janské Lázně

The rope centre with a climbing wall is located 14 km from Trutnov in Janské Lázně.

The rope park in the trees consists of 36 obstacles in two circuits. In addition to other interesting rope obstacles, you can go from tree to tree here on a sled or snowboard. In addition, an adrenaline experience awaits you in the rope park in the form of crossings on a pulley.

Here you can also find a first rope BABYPARK, which is intended for children with height from 100 cm to 140 cm. Children are secured with a safe self-locking device.

Treetop Trail

From the roots to the tree tops. Explore the learning centre and enjoy breathtaking views of the 150-year-old forest giants from the 45-meter-high tower.

You have to hike your way to the top of the Trail, but you can shorten it down and speed it up with a slide. For the smallest visitors, there is a new diversion at the end, namely Emilův lesní svět (Emil’s Forest World), which is completely free to enter as part of a visit to the trail.

Older visitors will definitely be interested in the Underground Exhibition or didactic stops where they will learn a lot of interesting things.

The Treetop Trail is located in the heart of the majestic forests of the Krkonoše National Park in Janské Lázně.

Stachelberg Artillery Fortress

The largest artillery fortress in the Czech Republic and one of the largest in Europe is located above Prkenný Důl on Stachelberg Hill. It is part of the Czechoslovak border fortifications built before the WW II. These fortifications were connected by an extensive underground system. In a massive bunker you will find a historical exposition with extensive photographic and drawing documentation. There are models of fortresses and displays of armaments. From the exhibition, the visitor descends two hundred steps into the previously inaccessible underground part, which forms a labyrinth of corridors and halls.

Close to the to Stachelberg fortress is the Eliška lookout, evoking the image of a typical military observation point.

Safari Park Dvůr Králové

Safari Park Dvůr Králové is one of the most famous zoos in the Czech Republic. Zoo is also the largest breeder of African animals in Europe and is one of the most beautiful European zoos. In the Safari Park, in addition to the classic part of the zoo, you can go on a real safari or even a Lion safari, where, like in the national parks of Africa, there are no barriers between animals and people. The Les Království Reservoir

The valley reservoir is located on the Elbe River and is approximately 6 km from the town of Dvůr Králové nad Labem.
Thanks to its location in the wooded valley of the Elbe River and its architectural design, the Reservoir is one of the most beautiful reservoirs in the entire Czech Republic, and it was one of the reasons why it was in 1964 included in the list of technical monuments.

Hospital Kuks

Hospital Kuks can be found in the village of the same name Kuks, near the town of Jaroměř.

One of the most important baroque monuments in the Czech Republic rises above the Elbe valley. It is not a castle, but a majestic baroque shelter for army veterans with the ancestral tomb of the founder of Kuks. Its dominant feature is the Church of the Holy Trinity. Babiččino údolí (Grandmother’s Valley)

A little bit of novel by Božena Němcová.

Babiččino údolí is one of the most famous holiday spots in Eastern Bohemia. This is where Božena Němcová placed the plot of her novel Babička (The Grandmother). Somewhere here, real images of grandmother, Duchess Zaháňská, Barunka and her siblings, dogs Sultan and Tyrl, and crazy Viktorka used to walk.

And what will you actually see in Babiččino údolí (or Ratibořické údolí, as it is also known)? A modern empire castle residence, Old Bleachery, Viktorka’s weir, watter mill and the original Ratibořice pub.

The surroundings of Babičino údolí offer countless interesting places to visit, such as

the castle in Náchod, the castle in Nové Město nad Metují or the Dobrošov military fortress.

Adršpach-Teplice rocks

The Adršpach-Teplice rocks are the largest and wildest rock city in Central Europe, which has fascinated tourists and wanderers since the 18th century.

Most of the names of the local rocks also come from the 18th century. Among the most famous are the Lovers, Mayor and Lady Mayoress, Sugar Loaf, Krakonoš’s armchair, Jug or Elefant Square.

The circuit through the rock city is accessible throughout the year during visiting hours. The tourist circuit follows a green sign and is about 4 km long, but it will take you at least 3 hours to finish it. Also, don’t forget to make an on-line reservation, which is a must.

Ski Resort Černá hora – Pec

SkiResort ČERNÁ HORA – PEC is an ideal place for active family holidays in winter and summer. During winter, it offers skiing on 50 km of slopes with a single ski pass. During the summer, it is a place where you can ride 3 cable cars and enjoy the most beautiful views. You can cross the Krkonoše (Giant Mountains) on off-road scooters or electric mountain bikes. On Černá hora, try the Kabinka Children’s Park, in Velká Úpa there is a new Pecka Playscape. Sněžka

With its 1603 meters, Mount Sněžka is the highest mountain not only in the Krkonoše (Giant Mountains), but also in the entire Czech Republic. The rocky, bare peak of the mountain offers visitors wonderful panoramic views of the Czech and Polish landscapes and all of Krkonoše (Giant Mountains). In the past, Sněžka was an important place of pilgrimage, today it attracts a large number of tourists, who enjoy climbing the highest Czech mountain.
