Cross-country trails in the vicinity of Trutnov
The town of Trutnov is an excellent place for winter sports lovers. There are ideal conditions for both classic downhill skiing and cross-country skiing. Cross-country skiers find most attractive the city’s forest park. Facilities and starting point for this trail can cross-country skiers find at the stadium called Paradráha located above the city’s forest park.
The trails are regularly groomed and are suitable for beginners and experienced skiers, both for classic and freestyle. The grooming of the trails has been for several years provided by the ski club Olfin Car Trutnov , where, among others, the current Czech representative Eva Nývltová-Vrabcová started her career.
In the vicinity of the mentioned Paradráhy are being prepared racing trails of approx. length 7 km. In other parts of the Trutnov forest park, you will find another five-kilometer trail in the area of Houska Hill. In the part of Trutnov Nové Dvory is also being prepared the trail from Nové Dvory to Žacléř, with a length of approx. 10 km.
From Trutnov it is also possible to go to the opposite side of the valley, from Nové Dvory to Babí and through Sněžné domky to Rýchory. This route is connected to Main Krkonose Trail, called the ‘Krkonosska magistrala’, so more experienced cross-country skiers can reach the Czech-Polish border at Pomezní Boudy, which is 25 km from Trutnov.
